Very Pleased WIth My Country Cottage Desk
After much deliberation on how to furnish my tiny home office, I decided I wanted a solid wood desk that didn't look like computer furniture. Home Star offered other affordable solid wood styles but I chose the Country Cottage Collection because it had the lightest finish. The "whitewash" has a yellow cast which didn't bother me.
I couldn't believe how pretty this desk was when it arrived. It is solid and sturdy, yet assembly couldn't be easier; simply screw on the legs and the drawer knob. My only minor complaint is I wish the drawer was wide enough to accommodate my mousepad as well as my keyboard. The drawer opening is tall enough to fit my Microsoft 4000 keyboard, which has a high wrist attachment. (The inside dimensions of the drawer are 22.75" W x 3.75" H x 15.75" D. The drawer slides out about halfway. Laid flat the drawer face adds 4" of space.)
I also purchased the side table and bookcases. Not as thrilled with the bookcases as they are a little smaller...

After searching all of the local retail stores in my area; I decided to try shopping for the kind of desk I wanted on the internet. It took a while because this desk is a very popular; in demand, and expensive item. The price was less expensive on Amazon.com. Amazon made me an offer I could not refuse. Now I have this very special desk in my home. I love the beautiful shine it gets when I dust it. It matches my home office decor. I feel so blessed to own it! Thanks Amazon. It was fine, what I expected.
I read the other reviews before ordering and my computer screen is now sitting on this table (which is a comfortable height for me).
I agree this table is a good buy for the money.
