Nice mirror, awkward hanging hardware
We looked forever for an oval mirror that was actually made of wood - so many are plastic or foam - and have been satisfied with this mirror. It is wood, but as a previous reviewer said it is most likely MDF with a nice finish. I'm OK with that - MDF is used widely even in high-end furniture and cabinetry because it is so stable and easy to finish. The one thing I did not like about the mirror is the hanging hardware. It comes simply with two "keyhole" type holes drilled in the frame (and reinforced with a metal plate). So in order to hang this you would need to drill two level holes in your wall and have a hangar/nail in each. I find this tough to do. So instead I went to the hardware store and got some piano wire and "D-rings" (I think that is what they are called). I remove a screw from each of the keyholes in the frame, attached the D-rings in its place, and then ran the piano wire between the two D-rings. Defective Finish on Mirror
The mirror arrived and the finish on it was defective. It has ripples and lines throughout the finish making it look cheap and damaged. I exchanged the first mirror for another one hoping it would arrive without these issues. However, the second one has the same issues. It is a defect with the way they are made. It is not something that happened during shipping because you can tell that they tried to smooth it out cover it up. I just contacted Amazon and had to request a refund so I can get a quality mirror. I loved the design of this mirror and wanted it for the powder bathroom at our new house, but unfortunately I'm going to have to keep searching.
Impossible to hang
A lazer level is required to hang this mirror. So far I have not been able to find a handy man who has such a level and doesn't want to charge a fortune for such a minor job. If ever I get it hung, I think it will be pretty.
