great bunks
when we got married we joined together and became a family with 6 kids , so with 2 kids in each room, we needed bunk beds, these beds are great, very sturdy, our younger kids are 3, 3, 5, and 6, i love that the ladder comes off and doesnt require that you bolt it down, because i take them off during the day so the little ones arent able to climb on top bunk. great beds, and if you need a bunk bed without spending 800 dollars for this identical be at a furniture store (which we did look at about 6 different stores they are priced outrageous) i would buy this one!!!

Bunks
I ordered the bunks for my grandson who was graduating to a big bed. Since we needed one also the bunks were logical. They were REAL WOOD and beautiful. They were assembled in less than an hour. Very lightweight for moving but very sturdy. Beautiful all over. Arrived quickly and very good price for such a nice item.
Happy kid
My kid is happy. I'm happy. Sufficiently sturdy. Instructions give weight limit that was below my weight for upper bunk, but anyway a kid sleeping in it, so no worries. Seems sturdy enough. Ladder side is reversible. Comes as a box full of boards, you'll want a power tool for the assembly.

Nice reasonable priced bed frame
I bought this bed for my camp because of the underbed drawers. It came well packaged and there was no damage to the contents. I unpacked the pieces and hardware packs and laid them out on the floor. I read the instructions. The fasteners were a new kind to me but they worked well. It took me a minute to figure out how they worked. Assembly went smoothly once I got used to the numbering system of the parts and how the parts went together. The bed is sturdy and looks nice. I also ordered the headboard. Assembly of the headboard is similar. I was very satisfied with this bed. I weigh 250 pounds and the bed had no issues with support. I ordered a second bed and it took me about half the time to assemble it. The drawers are sturdy and operate without any problems. I see where some folks have problems assembling this bed. The instructions make you think. You have a satisfied customer here.

Well... How destructive is your kid?
So, here's the thing about this bed. It looks pretty cute, it's pretty easy to assemble, it's pretty sturdy, and it's pretty cheap, but how long it will last will depend heavily on what kind of child you have. The board situated directly under the mattress has snapped in half on mine after owning it for a period of about three to four months, which then caused one of the drawers to disassemble. It's not looking so cute anymore. Now, I've got to find something to replace that board with (I might try a... board). But, I'm still going to give this four stars because the bed, I don't believe, would have done that if your kid was using it. Mine is just a tornado of destruction and is rarely seen not being in Hulk-mode. Is your kid in Hulk-mode? Is he a really big fan of jumping on things and not so much a fan of stopping when you tell him to? You might want to pass, or buy it but go ahead and reinforce it immediately.

Slow Delivery - Broken Parts - Worst Service. Ever.
OK, I admit Amazon has taught me to expect fast delivery, so I'm bound to be incredulous when a vendor takes Two Weeks to ship.
So I practice my patience skills, am really happy when it arrives but lo and behold - pieces are broken! Not bent or scratched, but broken...as in snapped in half where the dowel holes are.

I contacted South Shores via email, specified the part required, they asked for more info, I gave them all the codes and part numbers they need, get told to wait for a confirmation and then guess what - nothing, no response, nada. I followed up and what do you know, no record I'd ever exchanged emails with them. So I had to give them all the details again - and - wait for it - it will take another Two Weeks to ship the replacements. I asked them if they could expedite and the girl reluctantly said she'd make it a 'priority' order so it will get shipped out 'sometime this week' rather than waiting the 'standard 10 days' before being 'processed'. Basic "starter" bed
Very basic bed. Bought this as a "big bed" for my 3-year-old. The drawers slide on plastic runners that fit into grooves on the sides of the drawers, so they don't open or close very smoothly, especially in high humidity. My daughter sometimes needs help to open or close them by herself. Otherwise, they are fairly sturdy and provide ample storage space. The knobs on the drawers are painted tan to match the color of maple wood. They are not actually varnished raw wood. Not a big deal for me, since I plan to paint them white to match the bed and other furniture in her room anyway. I also would suggest gluing the knobs in place since the screws easily strip out the wood causing them to fall off easily. If you can live with the minor frustrations, the bed is a good, inexpensive option for a child. I wouldn't suggest it as a piece to last a lifetime.

Great bed for a young kid
We bought this to replace a toddler bed for my three-year-old (along with the matching headboard).

I am happy with the product overall - the only criticism I have is that the drawer bottoms are a thin, almost cardboard-like material instead of the thicker board like the rest of the bed, and I don't see that holding up to kids for very long.

One of the long, thin boards that run above and below the drawers was broken in half when it arrived (more than likely from shipping, though the packing seems like it should have been adequate). We called for a replacement and received it quickly, no questions asked. Luckily it was not a support piece, so we were able to assemble the rest of the bed and use it in the meantime. The manufacturer definitely makes an effort to prevent damage with lots and lots of support and packing material.

One thing to note is that when you open the package, you may notice some pieces that are not the right color. I was alarmed...

Good dresser, but be ready to work.
This dresser turned out to be a very nice one. It is somewhat frustrating to assemble, but you have to remember that YOU ARE ASSEMBLING A DRESSER. Just follow directions exactly as shown and you will have yourself a nice looking dresser with smooth gliding drawers. Total assembly time was about 4.5 hours.
I LIKE TO CRITICIZE
The headboard arrived today. It was a day early, contained extra assembly parts, and I had to pee twice during the two hours it took me to un-crate and assemble it. But, despite all these problems, it is perfect and was easy to assemble. I guess I have to give it 5-STARS.

Beautiful
Santa brought this bed for my eight year old daughter. We love it! I feel like the picture doesn't do it justice. There was a piece missing which is why I did not give it 5 stars. Santa was able to improvise Christmas Eve and I haven't contacted customer service yet.

My son LOVES this headboard!!!
My son has had this headboard (In addition to the night table and captains bed that matches) for about a year and a half and he loves it!!! It matches perfectly, was easy to put together (yes you will need a few simple tools because it comes in a box that is flat......but very easy to put together), and is very sturdy!!!

My son loves that it has deep cubby holes for his things.......and a hole already in it for his clock that needs plugged in. We are considering buying another bed and headboard for our second son who is 2 now and will need a "big boy bed" soon.

All right. I'm about to go into depth about my entire experience with this bed so that people can get a fairly honest picture of what this bed is like because based on the reviews, I was skeptical of getting something good for the amount of money I was paying for. If you're expecting a bed fit for the gods, then I might suggest shopping for furniture in person rather than online. This isn't to imply that the bed isn't good quality--it's actually pretty nice, but more on that later.

Within three days of my order, I received it in the mail. I was a little worried about the rumors of it being the weight of a thousand elephants because I knew this was going to be a solo project. Not being the strongest of twenty-year-old girls, I was a little intimidated by own expectations. Now, I live on the first floor of my apartment, but there are about five stairs before getting to my door, which whoever delivered my bed still managed to bypass and...

OK, but you need patience to assemble.
This bed is about what you would expect for $150. Be prepared. This thing comes in a zillion pieces. Once you get the hang of it things speed up. I am reasonably handy and it took me a couple of hours. If you don't like mechanical tasks, you may be frustrated. The bed is sturdy but the drawers are flimsy.

I would likely think twice about buying this product again.

I realized after moving the bed 4 times its best to have an idea of where to place it. It is huge and heavy without the drawers or mattress. All in all my 4yr old loves it and its blue. The color brings so much life to the room. Try to be home when the HEAVY bed is delivered in an ackwardly shaped box. The UPS guy had a hard time carrying the box. This item is deserving of a giftcard for the driver.

Nice Headboard

product good for cost/company very good to deal with
We wanted an inexpensive captains bed, this suited us fine. It is very nice to look at, is made of real wood and my son loves it. However, less than 6 months after purchase, under normal use, the bed frame broke because of a knot in the wood. Really a bummer.
The company at first said, sorry, it is over 30 days purchase and could not help me. After communicating with them further, they went out of their way to correct the problem. They were unable to send a replacement part but immediately sent me an amazon gift card for the amount it cost me to replace the frame part.
I would certainly order from them again, however I would inspect the wood for obvious defects.

GRAET BED!
This ia an awesome buy. The wood is good quality. There is a TON of storage! There are two cabinet like doors on the ends of the bed and the whole underneath is storage. I love how you can't see under the bed so the room looks nice and neat. I love how the head bored is on the side of the bed. Such a SPACE saver, you can fit so much on it. The drawers are big aswell. I can fit all my daughters summer clothes in them. This has everything you need in one. HIGHLY recommend this great piece of furniture.

Great in Theory.....
Was looking for a cover for a twin bed that gets used more as a day bed. Wanted it to look less like a bed and more like a small couch. First, it does say for best results, dry clean. Not the type of thin coverlet that's used every day that most people would take to the dry cleaning, but I did wash on cold and used Woolite for Blacks. First wash it faded and shrank, so because only one end fitted, other end doesn't even come close to top of bed. I've put a black fitted sheet underneath, so not as obvious. Again, great in theory. This is the kind of thing I was looking for, just didn't hold up as expected.

pretty color
i purchased this for my daughters daybed. when i got it i realized it wasnt fitted on both ends. The side that isnt fitted keeps riding up the mattress.. so you have to keep adjusting it and pulling it down.
Perfect for Bunk Beds
I purchased this for my daughters bunk bed. The pink is a nice color but most importantly it actually stays on the bed. Having to make a bunk bed is difficult so the less I have to do it the better. Since the blankets stay attached to the bottom it doesn't pull out overnight. It also keeps the overhang at a minimum. I plan on getting six more to cover the other bunk beds. More colors to choose from would be nice. It would also be nice if you showed an option to purchase the matching pillow cases. I can't seem to find them on amazon.

I researched for quite a bit of time because of the negative reviews on this site and competitors and decided that the good would far outweigh the bad. Well surprise... surprise... they are GREAT! Having 3 young children I have found out the hard way that buying them expensive furniture/bedding etc., just isn't reasonable nor affordable. That is what originally piqued my interest in the South Shore Furniture line; the low price! I was excited to see that they were available through Amazon Prime and slowly realized, this is a good deal because of the free shipping.

Let's start off with shipment time: It isn't Prime standards but it does come rather quickly, at least quicker than the estimated delivery by arriving 3 days early. Others before me have stated the awkward/heavy box situation.... they are not LYING! Since Fed Ex was so polite in shipping nice and early (not) my husband was not there for the delivery. Good for the money
We bought this bed for our 3 year old son and didn't want to spend a fortune so this was in our budget. I opened the box and started the bed together and I realized how flimsy the material was[...]
Once I realized it wasn't worth it, I finished putting it together and set it all up. Turns out it looks pretty decent, even better than I thought.
Putting it together was very straight-foward and took about 2 hours by myself.
Anyway, if you're looking for inexpensive, faux wood, Ikea quality furniture, this one is not bad. It looks very nice though.
Great for the money but don't expect high quality
Although not super duper quality, I give this a 5 star because for the money it is very nice. It is NOT a high quality item, but it will do for my 5 year old and as I said...it was not expensive. The drawers are not all that big, but they hold some blankets and sheets. I like that the bottom is closed and things don't go under the bed all the time. I expect this to last until my son is ready for a larger bed )maybe 5-6 years). Really, if you can spend a lot more money on a solid wood bed then you should. However, if you are like us and you want to spend less then by all means, this will do just fine! Also, we got the matching headboard and it makes it sturdier and it makes it look complete! My son puts quite a few things on the headboard shelf...so glad we added that! I did see this bed and headboard at a Best Buys near us and it cost the same as here on Amazon. Amazon was great as usual. It was delivered a day or two before schedule and it was free shipping! No running around stores...

Served my purpose
Serves the purpose. I needed two small beds for my grandchildren when they come to visit overnight. I would not suggest these beds for long term use as they are not sturdy enough for day to day use with children.

Very good bed
We bought this twin bed for our 18-month dauther. She really likes this bed! The bed is very stylish, good designed and has quite a good quality for this price. We easily applied double-side bed rails on it so now it is secured for sleeping and looks similar to the tipical toddler bed.
The only concern was that one of the crossbars located under the matrass has a visible crack which was fixed with 2 furniture staples. As long as our daugher weights only 11 kg (~24.5 lb), it is not an issue. But if an adult with high weight will sleep on it, this may cause a broke.
Anyway, I am happy enough with this bed.

elegant twin bed for reasonable price
Awesome bed. Bought it for our 5 year old daughter. It arrived quickly. It is a solid wood frame, beautifully white. It took more us more time to unwrap the packaging than it did to put it together. Well worth the money.

Nice bed!
I bought this bed for my 5 year old daughter. The bed is wood and sturdy. It appears to be pine or whitewood. It arrived in three boxes in less than a week. It took all of 5 minutes to put together and looks great. Very girly, my daughter and I love it.
not happy
Pretty unhappy about this bed. First of all it was shipped to us and we didn't have time to open all the boxes and packaging to inspect it in the moment. So a couple days later when we actually had time to dig in to the project of getting into the boxes to put the bed together we were unpleasantly surprised at the very low quality of the wood. There was a big crack in the headboard but at this point we knew we could not return it because the packaging was torn apart and there was a big note from the company saying that we could only return the product in the same package and the day of drop-off. So...we were out of luck. Honestly I feel that the company should just refund our money without us having to return the bed because it's such a piece of junk. Save your money. This bed is not quality.
