Love it!
I am finally able to assemble this buffet and hutch, it arrived a couple days ago and with my busy schedule it is difficult to get time to do this sort of thing. I am SO IMPRESSED. One must remember when buying unassembled furniture that the construction is great as long as 2 things are present; great material and the person assembling the furniture takes their time and takes care while assembling the furniture. I must say that the directions though are a little surprising... very little steps, not very detailed in the pictures that are shown and leaves too much up to guessing. Some times like, insert all cam-locks and cam lock screws, would have been nice... things I should have picked up from doing other assemblies though and should have realized with the lack of directions that this should have been a part of it.

The rollers for the drawers are metal and built to last. And it is SO NICE that there is not a beam between the doors meaning it will hold larger items...

Buyer beware
Thought this item was going to be great. It was up until I opened the box. It says
that the color has a cherry finish. It comes in three different boxes and the only thing
that was cherry was the counter top. The buffet and hutch were a darker wood color that
does not match the counter. The counter was a nice cherry finish with glaze and the buffet
and hutch were not shiny glaze like the counter. If you try to send it back, better hope you live in CA. I live in
VA. and the shipping would cost over $80 of my own money for two of the boxes since the weight of
each is over 75 lbs. Since Homestyles have not returned any phone or email messages, I am left to spend my own
money sending it back. Stacks and stacks is the company that contacts Home Styles when there is a product
return. They are great. They contacted me twice and let me know that phone messages and emails have been
left everyday for Home Styles, but to no avail. Not even...
Great product!
We were looking for a small hutch to fit in our dining room and found this on Amazon. My husband put it together and it took him a few hours but what resulted was a great product! Everything is made out of great material and functions well.

Great Product... Assembled without a problem :)
I bought this bench for two reasons. One; I thought it was pretty. And Two; I wanted to see if it was really that hard to put together. haha! It took me about 1.5 hours. I put it together by myself, which was a bit challenging to hold the thing together and screw in screws. In defense of the person who gave it a bad review, the instructions could be a little better. Not all of the holes are predrilled so you have to imagine what the end product is going to look like. TIP: lay out all the pieces and organize them. (Drawer pieces especially) The only curse words I said was, "DAMN I AM GOOD!!" Lol. Maybe you should leave this one to the ladies to put together :)

Cool Little Bench
I bought this bench several months ago to put in the foyer of my home. The price was very reasonable and I loved the way it looked. The size was also perfect for the foyer.

I received it but while putting it together noticed that there was a defect in one of the wooden pieces and was also missing a drawer stopper. I wrote to Amazon and to the company that sold it to me through Amazon and let them know the issues. All I wanted was for them to replace the defective wooden piece and send me a drawer stopper.

Instead, they sent me a whole new bench (at no charge), without any defects and said that I could keep the defective bench. I was able to re-engineer the defective wooden piece and was able to find a suitable drawer stopper for the first bench. So in reality, I got 2 benches for the price of one! My wife put the first bench in the sitting room upstairs and set stuffed animals on it. The second one is in the foyer as originally planned.

I must say that...
Cute but needs improvements
Took 3 hours to put together (because the instructions are terrible and I ended up redoing half of it). The drawers dont come out functionally. It's sturdy, attractive and fits my purpose but was a pain in the @ss to assemble. That's what you get from China! I'm a 26 y/o female and figured it out eventually. Be prepared to use common sense and not follow instructions because you will be frustrated like crazy! Having a margarita now that I'm done... I deserve one!

Good solid bench
The Alaterre Shaker Cottage Storage bench is exactly what I was looking for. It is easy to put together and looks great in our entryway. It is the perfect height to use when putting on shoes. It's attractive too.

Very happy
Bought this item for my back hall. It looks great. The black finish is better than a regular laminate. It's like a baked on finish that feels thicker than a normal laminate finish. I put it together with my son easy enough. I would definetly recommend this piece.
Very solid - good value
I wanted a small entryway piece of furniture to double as a bench and some storage space. This does very nicely. It's very solid - I feel quite safe sitting on it to remove my boots or whatever. The two doors open nice and wide, big enough for me to put a basket on each side to hold gloves and caps, etc. and it's easy to pull the basket out when I want something. It looks good by the front door - not an expensive looking piece of furniture, obviously, but it doesn't look too cheap, either.
I assembled it without help (I'm a 61 year old woman) so that should tell you it doesn't need two people as the instructions say.
My only complaint about it is that there were a couple of dings on it when it arrived - I was able to color in the light spots on the edges with a Sharpie but if they had been any bigger or in a more obvious place, they would probably have showed. As it is, you can't see the small booboos and I'm very satisfied with it.

Great for my boys room
I bought the bunk beds and the chest and they both look great in my boys' room. They also smell great! The drawers are pretty deep so it holds a lot.

Missing items!
I recieved my kids' storage chest almost 3 weeks ago with two missing knobs from a drawer.I called Coaster 2 times already since the complaint and they keep telling me that their systems are down and they haven't sent them out yet.I wonder why most people don't like ordering online.I've ordered many items but this one had to change my point of view.A 4 drawer chest and can only use 1..Not Cool!I think I have to go further about the issue.

hinge problem + measurements
This piece is made from nice material, but, like another reviewer, there seems to be a problem with the hinges on one side such that those doors won't stay closed. I think we will be able to solve that, but it's too bad that we need to.

Also, be advised, the measurements given above are what you might call the piece's "footprint." The "16 inch" depth is only if you measure the base or top, and that's where the "30 inch" width comes from too. Useable interior shelf space is 12 inches by 25 inches.

Made well and a great addition to the kitchen!!!
We bought this pantry not knowing exactly how it would be made.. but we were very very pleased with it!!! It was easy to assemble and the parts are all made of sturdy oak wood. We highly recommend this item!!!!!
Nice looks, but poor quality control
I bought this to use as a kitchen pantry and it will be good for that eventually, hopefully. The piece looks nice and was easy enough to put together with 2 people. However, the 2 left doors will not stay closed nor will they close at all. We ordered replacement hinges and that just made the situation worse. I contacted customer service a second time and I will just have to wait and see what they suggest. $500 is too much to spend to cause this headache.

Very Well Made & Highly Recommend
This is a very nicely made item and a beautiful piece, well worth the price. It is made of real wood, not particle board, it is very sturdy and has a beautiful finish. You will need someone to help you put it together, especially to hold the bottom pieces while the other person screws them together. My wife and I put it together in about 1 hour. The picture doesn't do it justice. We are both very pleased with this item.

Looked for a long time!
Bought through another retailer, $234 delivered plus tax. We have been looking for one for a 6 months, couldn't decide which one to get. The pros for this Hall Tree: 1.) was available in a cherry finish, which matched many of our other pieces. 2.) Mostly hardwood. 3.) Right size, though could have been a bit taller. 4.) The base is high enough so you can hide shoes under it. 5.) Storage in base, so the clutter is out of sight, not in cubbies or baskets. 5.) Customer service responded quickly to email and promptly shipped out replacement parts. 6.) The legs are adjustable. 7.) Instructions were pretty clear, took about 1 hour 15 min. to unpack, assemble and clean up, not bad and I really didn't hurry. Cons: 1.) A few scratches or flaws in the finish, lucky most were on back pieces or out of sight. 2.) Lid to base storage was warped and some splits in wood from the hinge screw. 3.) The hardwood is finger jointed wood, usually referred to as "paint grade", not "clear" furniture grade...
hall tree/bench
I received this item in January 2006. One of the bench panels was broken. The manufacturer failed to include an instruction manual so I couldn't figure out how to put it together.

Mid-March, I still haven't received a replacement panel for the broken piece. They did mail an instruction sheet.

I am VERY disappointed in the customer service I have received from the seller.

Very Good!
I really like the coat hooks with storage. Comes pre-built which is a big plus. Easy to install. I would have given it 5 stars if the storage cubbies where a little deeper (somewhat shallow) and that it came in white. It's ivory and doesn't match my white bench, but its close. Other than that its great!

Large, heavy, well made
This piece arrived in good time, packaged well and is exactly as described. It is bigger than I thought it would be, but will serve it's purpose with large storage areas and hooks for hanging coats. Seems to be well made.
Good quality, easy to hang
This is a great coat rack and storage. Quality is excellent and it attractive as well as really functionals. It is a fairly heavy piece, but luckily, the manufacturer uses a French cleat and that makes hanging this (and hitting studs and getting it level) on the wall pretty easy for someone who doesn't have a ton of carpentry skills.
