mediocre fit & finish
Pros:
- Reasonable price (for this type of furniture)
- Open spaces for your electronics (lets heat dissipate), rather than enclosed
- Drawer can be left out to create 3rd open shelf and still looks "finished"
- Not overly complex to assemble (i.e. not a particularly large amount of hardware for furniture this size)
- Holes pre-drilled in the back of the drawer in case you want to keep a game console there
- Mostly wood construction, only flimsy pieces are back panel and drawer bottom (typical)
- Customer service and technical assistance in US (Dallas Texas), numbers clearly printed in directions

Cons:
- Couple of minor dings (OK, I can touch the small ones up with a black marker)
- A rather large ding on prominent top piece, I am contacting SEI to obtain replacement piece (will update with results)
- Instructions leave a bit to be desired, not all my pieces were labeled (but some were), some pieces are easy to reverse...

Looks GREAT!
This is the perfect size and looks great when put together. My husband said that assembly was fairly easy and took him about 2 hours overall. I love the look of it- it is very, very solid and has a pottery barn look without the price:)

Great value, sturdy furniture, tricky assembly
I wanted a cabinet that would match my white wooden fireplace. After several searches I narrowed it down to this cabinet. I read many reviews of Home Styles furniture, so I wanted to add my two cents.
First of all, this is a heavy, sturdy piece of furniture. At this price point you typically get a light, laminated MDF piece of junk, so I was extremely pleased with the overall quality.
The furniture comes well packed with multiple layers of protection, and with the exception of a very small nick, it was in perfect shape.
The instruction set is minimal but clear, and there are extra pieces of hardware so that you have a few spares.
Once assembled, the furniture looks very good. I have seen several pieces of furniture costing twice as much that did not look nearly as good.
The reasons why I gave it 4 stars instead of five is that the assembly proved more tricky than necessary. I am very used to assemble my own furniture and quite handy, but this piece of...

Bought this for my mom and she loves it. I put it together which was very easy to do. At some points it would be easier for 2 people to do it. Looks great all together, everything lines up as it should and the hardwood pieces give a sturdy nice looking finish.

Sauder Highboy TV Stand
This stand is awesome. I love the color, the height, the four openings for components and the large drawers for media, manuals, or whatever. It was a breeze to put together. It really makes my 32" Flat screen TV, audio system, DVR, Cable box and other components look professional. I will give it a high 4 or low five only because the finish was knicked in a couple of minor places, nothing that a little shoe polish couldn't hide. Oh and did I mention it got to me a day earlier than was scheduled.

I like it
I was looking for something to put in my bedroom that could hold some socks, underwear, and some undershirts. I also wanted to be able to put my stereo, blu-ray player and tv on/in it. Finally, I wanted something that looked nice.

This item works PERFECTLY for my needs. It looks good. Making it took me, by myself, about 30 minutes. It's really easy to make. You will need a couple of extra tools like a wrench and a skinny screw driver. The included screwdriver was a bit too stubby for the feet.

All but the feet are made of wood. I would describe the paint as weathered black. There are hints of brown for the weathered look, so if you want jet black, then this isn't for you.

It fit my socks, shirts, underwear perfectly. The drawers could also be used to hold gadgets and doo dads I'm sure. It could also hide quite an array of dvds and blurays if you would like.

The open compartments are divided into 4 slots. I fit a laptop in one...
Great stand :)
This is a wonderful tv stand! It goes up so high and it has plenty of space in all of its drawers for our DVDs. None of the drawers stick too, plus there's room for our ps3, gamecube, cable box, and our crappy VCR in the spaces in the top. It's more of an espresso color than a black though. We put it together in no time flat. I'd use a little wood glue on the dowels that come with any/all "build-it-yourself" pieces; It really helps add a little stability. It's not rock solid unfortunately so I dread the thought of moving with it and the feet are plastic (which is pretty unnoticeable). All in all though I'd give it 3.5-4 stars.

Ok, but poor QC from the manufacturer
Ordered a pair of nightstands for the guest room from a major department stores website. Units arrived relatively well packed, however the first unit I assembled had a badly scratched top and was missing one of the recessed nuts for attaching the feet assemblies. Pretty disappointing as I'd assembled most of the unit by the time I realised.... On unpacking the second unit I noticed one of the side panels had a fairly major split in the wood. Oh well, I managed to assemble one good unit from comprised of parts both and was fairly pleased with the assembled piece. To be fair it took a little bit of manual manipulation to get everything to line up straight and even with my best efforts the drawer does not sit flush with the front on one side (and I'm pretty handy), but it is still an attractive piece of furniture. I took the other unit back for refund and re-ordered a replacement... This arrived today and lo and behold it has a series of decent size scratches on one of the side panels,...

This is a great quality nightstand. Have been furnishing bedrooms recently and this is the best purchase yet. You won't be disappointed in finished product. Great value for the money!
Terrific value, I was impressed!
I'm so impressed with this furniture. When I received the boxes from Amazon, I was nervous, as the Amazon boxes were trashed. Inside, the manufacturer's box was fine though. Everything was so well wrapped and protected. Each piece was cushioned with styrofoam. This comes from Indonesia, yet the instructions were clear and easy to understand. The hardware was bagged and labeled, with 1 extra piece for everything except the handle for the drawer. The only tool needed was a Phillips screwdriver. The holes are pre-drilled, with cam locks and dowels. Once assembled, the nightstand has heft; I'm not worried that it will fall apart or tip over. I'm an Amazon shopping junkie; with free shipping and the great price point, this is one of my best buys from Amazon. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great deal!
