Expensive, not stable and no customer service to contact!!!
Not stable! Screws got lose after a month!!! My 2 year old son leaned on the table and the the top topple over him. I'm so glad I was there before any serious mishaps could have happened to him. No customer service to call. AMAZON, please do something about this!

Table isn't sturdy
After having this table for 5 months, I now see that the table wobbles.
It's probably because my twin boys stand on it.

I know, Of course!

I must say, my twins are about 33 lbs each. I haven't caught them both on the table at the same time, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

My table has been through a lot. I'm surprised it's still up. I have seen that kmart offers something similar to this dining table set up for about $200
That's for the bench and the table.

I don't know how well that other table is built, but I sure hope it's built a lot better than this one.

I don't like that my table is messed up. I'll try to see if I can fasten the screws here and there, and I will update this review later.

For now, I rate this 3 stars. Coming from a home with crazy twins that like to stand on tables, and dance to Yo, Gabba, Gabba.

very satisfied
This was the 'riskiest' purchases I've made online in that this item had only ONE other reviewer. However, the table's general appearance (bold/solid) and the one reviewer's seeming satisfaction lead me to get it. I was looking for an old farmhouse style table, but most which had the style either were poorly rated and looked frail or cost way more than I was willing to pay.

Mind you, $300 ain't cheap, but in general terms and for a heavily used and essential part of the home, I was willing to pay up to that level for a good table.

This table is certainly solid. Legs are solid wood. I think the whole thing is solid 'real' wood except for the top surface. The top surface is perfectly smooth (no grain) which leads me to believe it's the one 'selected veneers' mentioned in the product description. But it 'feels' like wood... ;)

Beautiful Table!
This table is great. It was not difficult to assemble, all the parts were present, and the directions were easy to follow. The hardest part was unpacking it! It has a beautiful finish and is very solid. The extra leaf is easy to install and makes the table perfect for a large group. It is exactly what I needed for my family room.
Nice Table
Son put it together for me without any problems. Table is very sturdy and doesn't waver at all. The large table top was a real plus when wrapping Christmas presents. Would recommend to anyone looking for a heavy table.

Marble Top Lamp Table
This is a very nice looking lamp table. It is quite heavy due to the marble top. I would have given it a higher rating except that it is very difficult to assemble. The directions are not clear and one has to guess how the pieces fit together.

Home Styles 3 PC Corner Kitchen Dining Nook Set
We purchased this to fit our eat-in kitchen area. The set contained all the pieces, including extra hardware. It was easy to put together. I did it solo, but it would have been much easier to have a helping hand. The pieces look good and sturdy. We have kids in the house, so we wanted something that was not too expensive that could withstand the use of children. A drinking glass fell on the bench and put a few dents on the surface and someone wrote on paper on the tabletop, which left a visible imprint on the tabletop. That being said, the wood surface is not as hard as I thought it would be. I recommend putting down cushions as well as a tablecloth if you want to protect the wood from becoming scratched. Overall, we are happy with the set.

Color is darker than the picture..
Very well packaged. It didn't have a single scatch or damage. Easy to assemble. Although I was disappointed in the color, I am happy with the quality. The color was much darker than I expected, which messed up my decoration plans. It's more like a chestnut or walnut color.I would have given 5 stars if it was exactly the same color shown in the picture.
Excellent Quality
The quality is excellent, however, I have to agree with the other reviewer......this ain't an oak finish......it's a very deep walnut color (and yes, I checked to make sure I ordered correctly). It went together easily, and is VERY sturdy so far. I would rate higher if the color was correct.

Beautiful Table, NOT the right color
Do not expect this set to look like what is in the picture. When I opened the boxes, the pieces are closer to a dark Walnut rather than the Oak listed. I know wood furniture varies when it is stained, but this was a HUGE difference. I had to return the item because it was nowhere near close to what is shown. It would have been a great table, all the pieces were in great condition and very sturdy. It is just not what I ordered at all.

Poorly constructed and damaged table and chairs
The manufacturer of this product has serious quality control problems. My husband and I purchased the table and six chairs in November 2011. The table arrived with a cracked top. Homestyles sent me a replacement. That top arrived with a large gouge in the edge. The second replacement was for the wrong half of the table. The third replacement fit so poorly that I could not close the top of the table, and the stain was a different color than the original table. This went on for several months and, in the meantime, the seat of one of the chairs cracked. Cymax, the company that sells this product through Amazon, replaced the entire table and the cracked chair. The two halves of the replacement table do not close without a 1/8" gap, and there is a noticeable flaw in the finish.

Through all of this the Homestyles and Cymax customer service people were responsive, helpful, and tried to make it right. Unfortunately, that does not make up for the fact that the product is of poor...
Directions could be clearer, but end result was beautiful
This was not the easiest piece of furniture I have ever put together. The directions were very difficult to follow at times and some pieces needed to be taken apart and redone once it was realized the wrong screws were used. This may be in pat because some of the screws for the chairs less than a quarter inch smaller (or larger if your prefer) than the other. Once we figured out what we were doing, it took two people a total of ten hours (five hours each) to assemble it.

However, it was worth it as the finished product is beautiful. It looks far more expensive than what I have paid for it. I have received multiple compliments one it and am very pleased with it. Unlike some furniture that is put together, this does not look like it was and is very, very sturdy.
